Only tips i can suggest is have a person or two use candles and close doors/look for the breaker as the other two try to figure out where the room could be. The 3rd one was in Ridgeview and deduced it was a shade because the hunt speed didnt match a revenant nor was it hunt happy like a demon would have been, and the ghost wandered around a lot as is typical shade behaviour for us. 2nd time we remembered our tools for grafton and it was the shapeshifter one which we got because we didnt notice the speed increase near electronics the Raiju would have had. So you get some measure of progression like “ok the ghost is pissed now let’s give it some space” instead of blowing out a candle and then it just strangles someone straight to death in front of a crowd of horrified onlookers. (I’d really like to see slamming doors be implemented, that would scare the pants off me tbh) Like minor sounds and door creaking, progressing to louder speech and moving/displacing furniture and slamming doors. I feel like the ghosts should have more and more invasive haunt events before they hunt. Often times on nightmare it just hunts with little warning, and while making the game harder, it doesn’t really make it very “haunted” if you know what I’m saying. My one comment would be that I want to see more ghost events happen. Since then we’ve adapted a strategy and I actually quite enjoy nightmare mode. We did the typical “are you horny” thing on the Ouija board and it flipped the plectrum and hunted. Nah, Shade.Ī lot of people I have seen with complaints similar to mine get shot down and told that this is a "skill" issue with objectively one of the easiest games I've ever played, and even if this was true with me and my friends all being level 1000+ with hundreds of hours in the game, then it's still RNG and that's frustrating and not fun. Just last night we got EMF 5 in two locations simultaneously, by the blue tent and all the way on the other side on the ground in front of the yellow tent behind it, and it never hunted anyone who was alone in the campsite. I've never disliked anything but the difficulty changes. It just makes the whole thing feel pointless and not difficult but annoying and frustrating.
